Do you enjoy working outdoors while being resilient to adverse weather conditions? Are you able to deal with challenging situations and physical work? Do you have excellent decision making, reporting and communication skills? If so, our Southern Water Recycling team is looking for a reliable team member to cover the Dorchester and West Dorset area.
What will I be doing?
The role of Water Recycling Operator involves the operation and maintenance of conventional sewage treatment plants and pumping stations to meet quality standards. You will also be involved in running advanced wastewater treatment and sludge process plants.
You will play a big part in the team by ensuring compliance with company policy, processes, and procedures. You must also ensure the health, safety and welfare of all colleagues, the public and yourself at all times.
Additionally, you will need to be flexible, as you will be required to participate in a standby rota, providing out-of-hours cover to respond to telemetry alarms. Also, due to the nature of the job, overtime will occasionally be available to cover reactive work and emergencies.
What are the requirements?
To be successful you must be happy working outside in all conditions and have previous experience working unsupervised in an industrial or process plant. Electrical or mechanical experience would be desirable but is not essential.
Due to the nature of the role having a valid driving licence is essential, ideally with category BE. Confined spaces training and all other relevant training will be provided.
